That this video is going viral amongst people sympathetic to OWS is quite telling: the protests tend to pander to conventional American values. Clearly this video wouldn’t be so popular if it were a regular protestor cursing out the police. It’s only because the complainer is a marine, higher in the hierarchy of USA today’s most patriotic vocations, that his denouncement of police brutality is being elevated to a common rallying point.- LDB
